My New Year's Word: Enjoy

No New Year's resolutions for me this year, although I don't dislike them.
 I'm joining the creative community in selecting a word.
This word is meant to be a guide word and a reminder to seek the positive.
I toyed for a while with the word "am" for my word.
 I am... I am....

So many possibilities!
 I am happy.  That sounds good!
Conversely,  I am so behind.  That sounds discouraging!
Like:  I am so behind on my reading and my house work

and my school work and my art and my emails and
my creative projects and let's be honest, my just about everything.
So, no I am.
Enjoy came to mind, and it has stuck.
What could go wrong with enjoy

Enjoy your new year!

 Do you have a word for the new year?

~Cheryl Gee recommends the movie "Cirque Du Soleil; Worlds Away 3D." She also recommends eating black eyed peas for good luck on New Year's Day.  It's a Southern thing.

Shape Snowflakes: Creative Display

Do you see what I see?

I see paper snowflakes made from shapes!

First Grade students cut shapes from paper in order to design snowflakes and

to learn very complex mathematical shape concepts.

Ingenious! That's creative!

My Fantasy Junk Drawer List

List It Tuesdays

This week's topic:  The contents of your junk drawer

I don't have an actual junk drawer, but I do have a fantasy junk drawer.

Here's what would be inside:

*Tom Selleck's and Johnny Depp's phone numbers *
* Lexus RX spare key * Chanel watch *
* Dolce & Gabbana red lipstick *
* a birthday card from Bravo Network's Andy Cohen *
* Louis Vuitton luggage tag * plane tickets to anywhere *
* Tiffany & Co. sunglasses * a bar of gold *
 * "Moonrise Kingdom" DVD *
*Neiman Marcus gift card * 3 wishes *

~Cheryl Gee doesn't have a junk drawer that comes with three wishes but if she did she'd wish to have all her son's childhood toys inside, Eric Clapton's song 'Change the World', and a bigger drawer for her awesome junk.

Let It Snow: Creative Holiday School Door Decorations

"Let It Snow"

Sarah's snowmen say:

"Welcome to the Art Room!"

Did you notice Sarah's personalized snowmen apron?
Her husband ordered it for her!  You're so creative Jake!

~Cheryl Gee is a school librarian and collage artist who is happy to let it snow somewhere else this year.
