Coulda Woulda Shoulda Learned to Paint and Draw

I coulda, woulda, shoulda learned to:

1. draw

2. paint

Here's my list for Artsyville's List It Tuesdays.
This week's list is "quick fixes: remedies that take only a little time and effort."
I'm a self-taught artist who's creative and crafty but not a painter or drawer.
But I'll keep on trying!

For the "quick fix" list prompt this week from Artsyville,
I spent a few days thinking about my life.
I contemplated what "quick fixes" I could use to make my life better
personally, professionally and creatively.
Quick fixes aren't my thing actually,
but I do love a sense of accomplishment when a remedy for something actually works.

So I thought of a problem that I would like to remedy with my art:
it's my lack of art instruction in painting and drawing.
It can be downright embarrassing sometimes!

However by participting in art challenges and dealing with my inner critic I'm not afraid to tell you that I would love to learn to paint and draw along with
my paper collageing.

Here you see an 8x11 inch piece of white card stock divided in half. I painted on the left and drew on the right.  I used a plastic oval stencil to trace the center for my title,
which I made with my customary random letters cut from magazines
and outined in lime green oil pastel crayons.

The left side was gessoed then painted with sky blue paint.  I used some bubble wrap and white paint to add some texture.   I sketched some yellow daisies
and painted them with brown, yellow and orange paint.

The right side of my compostion is the drawn version of the left side except
the sunflowers were drawn with colored pencils.

The center oval title says,

"I coulda, woulda, shoulda learned to paint and draw."

Next week's list:  Favorite movie lines.

I'll be participting in:

"No Frills Prompts" at  Dasiy Yellow art blog; returns Nov. 9
